UI/UX

Ovum

Developed in collaboration with Das Buero ohne Namen for Ovum, MIRA is an intelligent control platform for modern heat pump and energy systems – and a showcase of how complex technology can be transformed into a clear, usable, and scalable digital product. In close collaboration with Ovum’s management team, we designed the complete user interface and large parts of the user experience, from first principles to final execution. The goal was ambitious: to create an innovative UI for heat pumps that feels approachable and intuitive, while meeting the high technical demands of installers, service partners, and end users alike.

At the core of the project was the challenge of translating complexity into clarity. Energy flows, system states, and performance data had to be immediately understandable without sacrificing depth or precision. Through a strong information hierarchy, reduced visual language, and carefully designed interaction patterns, MIRA enables users to confidently monitor, control, and optimize their energy systems – across touch displays and mobile devices.

The UX concept was developed iteratively, aligning business goals, technical constraints, and real-world usage scenarios. Together with Ovum’s leadership, we defined workflows, interaction logic, and system feedback that support both everyday use and advanced system control. The result is an interface that lowers cognitive load, builds trust, and turns energy management into a transparent and reliable experience.

MIRA demonstrates my approach to UX and UI design: deeply collaborative, system-oriented, and focused on real usability. It is a digital product that doesn’t just function – it communicates, guides, and empowers its users.
